Cvijanovic rules out alliances in BiH Presidency but signals shared stance with Filipovic The Serb member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zeljka Cvijanovic, has stated that she will not form political alliances within the new Presidency layout, but confirmed she will maintain a aligned stance with Darijana Filipovic, the Croat member of the Presidency.
Oglas Cvijanovic clarified that this shared stance entails respecting constitutional mechanisms for the protection of constituent peoples, ensuring that no party imposes its will on another, and preventing the dominance of one group over another. "Our positions coincide on this matter.
I do not call this an alliance, but rather political reasoning through which Filipovic and I, as representatives of our parties and citizens, have noted what will be implemented," Cvijanovic said in an interview with the "Provjereno" portal.
Cvijanovic, who also serves as Vice-President of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD), emphasized that she is not creating coalitions, but rather seeking common ground alongside her party and coalition partners to deliver results aimed at protecting Republika Srpska. "We also respect the right of others to protect their own rights. It is certain that there will be no rotten compromises in the BiH Presidency.
I know what my policy is and what Republika Srpska expects, as demonstrated in these and previous elections," Cvijanovic remarked. She highlighted that SNSD does not require alliances or unsound compromises, but rather fair play, adding that her party is ready to participate honestly in such a process. Furthermore, she stated that SNSD and the Democratic Croatian Union of BiH (HDZ BiH) hold the greatest legitimacy to assume responsibility and shape political processes within Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Dismissing attempts to intimidate voters with narratives about a "two-to-one" majority in the incoming Presidency or the potential pardon of Milorad Dodik, Cvijanovic described these claims as mere speculation originating from political Sarajevo. She added that such assertions demonstrate a lack of genuine political engagement with the actual challenges facing Bosnia and Herzegovina. Kakvo je tvoje mišljenje o ovome?
